Storyline: After a dramatic chase, the Russian soldier Seroza kills Gunther, the Nazi who had been assigned to capture and kill Sveta.  It is the first time Seroza has killed a man.  Even though Gunther is the enemy, Seroza decides to bury him rather than to leave his dead body on the street.  Seroza puts Gunther on a child’s sled and begins pulling it towards the cemetery.  Slowly making his way in the dark, Seroza sings “Mercy” as the snow begins to fall.
